As Jesus’ disciples, we are called to participate in the public square. The U.S. Catholic bishops’ statement on Faithful Citizenship, and a variety of accompanying resources, can help guide us—not only during election season, but all year round!
Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship (also en Español), the statement of U.S. Catholic bishops on political responsibility, can help us form our consciences, contribute to civil and respectful public dialogue, and make political choices in the coming election in light of Catholic teaching.

We can bring our Catholic faith to the public square by voting, contacting our elected officials, participating in diocesan or state Catholic conference initiatives and campaigns, working with community organizations, running for office, and working within political parties.
A number of resources are available to help us reflect on our political responsibility as Catholics and as citizens. Here are just few!
